This kit provides students with opportunities to practice sorting objects into topical areas using manipulatives. Sorting practice using this kit helps students with categorization leading to access to fringe vocabulary by topics as presented in the Print nā Communicate communication book. Fringe vocabulary paired with Core Boards for communication (not included) can lead to more complete sharing of thoughts, wants, and ideas. Sorting topics in this kit can be matched to pages within the communication book and objects in the kit can be matched to communication symbols within topical communication pages as a tool to transfer meaning from 3D objects to 2D picture communication symbol systems often used in Voice Output Devices (VOCA or AAC).
