This kit from Primary Concepts provides students practice with identifying initial, medial and final sounds in words using manipulatives without any letter knowledge needed. Students can use tapping sounds to identify individual sounds at the beginning, ending or middle of words. Blocks, cubes, felts or chips (not included) could be used as sound placeholders to represent and point to sounds in objects within the kit. Objects in the kit can also be sorted by like sounds in the onset/first sound, final sound or middle/medial sound in spoken words.
