The Laura Ingalls Wilder series called The Little House on the Prairie began in the writings of true events taking place for one family as they journey west into Minnesota, Kansas and the Dakota territories. What began in journal and book form and then transitioned into a television series that is still available today. Students can experience early American life through the Ingalls family and the communities where they lived as they progress through this text set. Set includes a variety of texts from the full chapter book series to mini stories. There is even a cookbook that your class can explore to sample a few foods of the time period.
