The study of sound as a form of energy is a focus in science from kindergarten to 5th grade. In early grades students learn that sound is all around us and that we can make sounds. In grades 3-5 students learn that sound is energy and that vibrations provide the fuel to create sounds. As the standards progress, students learn that there are differences in sounds, cause and effect to the sounds created, and that they can manipulate sound and turn it into music by learning about sound waves and pitch. This kit would be great paired with the Sound Tubes Kit.
