To Build a Fire: A young man and a wiser husky set out across the wilderness on a winter Yukon morning. The man doesn’t realize how cold it will get and that soon he must either build a fire or freeze. As long as the man might build a fire, the dog stays with him. When the man fails, the dog trots off alone down the trail. This is London’s most powerful story.
