The SRS-2 identifies the presence and severity of social impairment within the autism spectrum and differentiates it from other disorders. The SRS-2 offers four forms, each with 65 items, and each for a specific age group: school-age (4-18 years), preschool (2.5-4.5 years), adult (19 years and up), adult self-report. Teachers, parents and others rate symptoms that they observe over time in the home, school, and elsewhere. A total score reflecting severity of social deficits is obtained as well as five treatment subscales including social awareness, social cognition, social communication, social motivation and restricted interests and repetitive behavior.
